Pewter tankard is a mug with a long history – first used by the Egyptians and later the Romans. They were more frequently used by the Europeans in the Middle Ages or, more commonly known as, the Medieval Period. Pewter is a metal alloy that some may consider cheap due to the fact that most of it is composed of tin.
